In their iconic song “I’m in a Hurry”, the second verse goes as such:

Don’t know why
I have to drive so fast
My car has nothing to prove
It’s not new
But it’ll do 0 to 60 in 5.2

The song was written in 1992, so I will assume that the car is a 1990 model year or before. This means the car was one of the following:

1977 Aston Martin V8 Vantage

1986 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante

1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1

1969 Chevrolet Corvette 427

1967 Pontiac GTO Royal Bobcat 400 Coupe

1968 Pontiac GTO Royal Bobcat 428 Coupe

1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0

1990 Porsche 928 GT

1965 Shelby Cobra 289 Hardtop

This has been your useless information post of the day.

Glad to know I'm not the only one that wondered about this.

I, too, have always wondered about this and my opinion was that it was a then- current TPI Corvette. Given that they’re a bunch of southern boys, the likelihood of them driving a foreign car is pretty slim.

I agree. I think the most likely options are the GTOs or the Chevys, mayyybe the Cobra but that’s pushing it

Their tour bus broke down near my hometown, and since my dad ran a diesel shop, one of his mechanics  fixed it. He said they were all completely drunk. I don’t think the bus did 0-60 in anything like 5.2 even when running.
